Today is National Fresh Breath Day! So we took it upon ourselves to let you know what you can do to help common bad breath or the technical term “halitosis”.

First, let’s start with the obvious… You need to brush…And you need to do it 2x a day for 2 minutes. The rule of 2! Not only brushing, but flossing.
Flossing removes the hard to reach spots and loosens the particles so that you can brush them away!

A forgotten piece to the puzzle, your tongue. It is in your mouth, and part of the family, so include it in the daily activities…BRUSH your tongue! 😛

Feeling parched? A little dry mouth? That causes bad breath. You want to wet your whistle! Keep hydrated! It is good for your breath and your body!

Don’t play cover up! Mints and gum are tasty and delicious, but sometimes that can be a barrier for bacteria. So while your breath may smell fresh and clean for that moment, it is actually blocking and creating a barrier where the bacteria stays and creates bad breath.

Obviously be wise in choosing what you eat, garlic and onions are known to linger…but did you know that high protein and low card diets create bad breath? When you are on these types of diets it triggers Ketosis, which is infamous for causing foul breath.

Rinse, rinse, rinse! Water rinsing after your eat or drink can really help. Water rinsing re-balances PH levels and swishing with water loosens
and removes food particles.

Go NATURAL! Fresh herbs may not sound like the ultimate after dinner treat, but the Chlorophyll neutralizes body odor!

If it smells sweet and it is a fruit then you should eat it! Fruits in high in vitamin c are like Superman! Vitamin C kills bacteria in the mouth!

SKIP THE CIGGIES! It is bad for you. It smells. It’s expensive. Did we mention it is bad for you?!

And last, but NOT LEAST- VISIT YOUR DENTIST. They are professionals! Seeing them every 6 months is a great way to cure bad breath!

Now go make sure you follow all of these and your breath with be FRESH AND CLEAN! Happy National Fresh Breath Day!
