There are few feelings more incredible than knowing your part of something bigger than yourself. At Cornerstone Dental Labs, an industry leader in cutting-edge dental restoration solutions, we take immense pride in the work that we do. But we never want to rest on our laurels; we want to keep thinking big and looking for ways to stay innovative.
That’s why we’re always striving to create partnerships with organizations that share our values.
We recently had the opportunity to work with 360Care, a prominent leader in senior care administration services, and we jumped at the chance! We traveled to Pittsburgh, PA, on Nov. 14, 2019, to join 360Care in leading their Two Step Digital Denture Process the Springhill Suites at Bakery Square.
Watch this brief slideshow video for a few symposium highlights, then continue reading as we provide more information about this exciting partnership and how we’re using technology to revolutionize denture fabrication.
The process of creating customized dentures has been completely transformed in recent years, and we’ve been on the front lines, leading the charge. Thanks to digital technology, we can fabricate a pair of dentures using Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing, ending up with amazing removable restorations — at a fraction of the cost and in much less time.
It delights us to think about how these changes will impact older adults, a sometimes-vulnerable population, in the future. Advancements in digital denture fabrication will give seniors quicker access to vital care and treatment that will positively impact their quality of life.
We are excited to begin this journey with 360Care and can’t wait to partner with them for upcoming events.
Cornerstone and 360Care: A Partnership Built on Progress
Cornerstone Dental Labs has been chosen as a preferred dental lab for 360Care, and we couldn’t be prouder. 360Care has positively impacted the lives of older adults in thousands of senior care communities across the nation, and they are continually working to improve the level of clinical care and auxiliary services available to these citizens.
Like our team here at Cornerstone, 360Care values progress and making a positive impact on people. It’s only natural that we should join forces! Together, we seek new ways to streamline the denture fabrication process, which in turn will enhance the quality of life for countless seniors at what can be a difficult time in their lives.
Two Step Digital Denture Process Event on Nov. 14 in Pittsburgh was not our first chance to partner with 360Care; they also invited us to their Digital Denture Symposium in Philadelphia. There, they unveiled their initial pilot program for their Two-Step Bite/Impression Process, which implements a digital workflow that reduces chair time for both patients and dentists.
In as little as five days, this workflow can produce digitally-made dentures and give a patient a customized dental restoration that dramatically improves their life without any extra hassle. Pretty incredible!
After providing a comprehensive overview of this revolutionary process to doctors in Philadelphia, we presented the same topic to a new group of doctors in Pittsburgh. We had 18 attendees at our Nov. 14 symposium. Our Sales Manager, Joe Anapolsky, and David Drag, our Removable Manager, helped to lead the presentation along with Shannyn McClellan, 360Care’s Director of Dental Operations. The symposium was such a great success that we accompanied 360Care to another event in Ohio on Nov. 21.
More About Two-Step Digital Denture Fabrication
To call the Two-Step Bite/Impression Process revolutionary is no exaggeration. For the first time, using this digital workflow, we can provide the older adult population with prompt denture solutions that achieve the required clinically acceptable fit and are comfortable to wear.
As mentioned earlier, the 360Care protocol allows for an unprecedented quick turnaround of approximately five lab working days. Here are a few reasons the process is so effective in such a short time:
- It utilizes new technology based on Computer-Aided Design, Computer-Aided Manufacturing and 3-D printing;
- The information needed to design the denture is captured in a single visit and stored in digital format;
- The process allows for the fabrication of an extremely precise and accurate denture;
- The process requires just one or two patient visits;
- Patients typically spend less than 60 total minutes in the chair;
- The initial impression/bite process takes only about 30 minutes;
- The entire process is not as labor-intensive for the laboratory staff.
Another great feature of the Two-Step Bite/Impression Process is that all digital data collected from a patient can be easily stored and retained for use in the future to do the following:
- Fabricate a spare denture or a replacement denture in a matter of days;
- Quickly and efficiently modify a previous denture.
Along with 360Care, we’re on a mission to introduce these innovations to dental professionals in our region and beyond, and to forever change the way seniors look at the denture fabrication process. Based on the response we’ve received to our recent events; we know we’re off to a great start!
